Free lunch this summer at schools

The Greene County Community School District and the Paton-Churdan CSD are again participating in the USDA’s summer food service program. Meals will be served Monday through Friday, June 9-Aug. 1, from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm at Jefferson-Scranton elementary, and also from 11 am to 12:30 pm at the elementary/intermediate school in Grand Junction. No meals will be served July 4. In the P-C district, meals will be served Monday through Friday, June 16-July 26, from 11:15 am to 12:15 pm at the school in Churdan. No meals will be served July 4. There is no charge for the meals, which will be the same for all children regardless of race, color, national origin, without discrimination in the course of the meal service. The USDA provides to participating schools a formal announcement with instructions for filing a civil rights complaint of discrimination. An Iowa non-discrimination notice is added.
